LINDSAY SEARS ON HER WAY TO ANOTHER TUCSON TITLE;
JAKE COOPER AND JADE CORKILL TAKE HOME THE TOP PRIZE AT CERVI ROPING
(Tucson, Ariz.) – Barrel racers began their second round today and the aggregate leader is a familiar face. Lindsay Sears of Nanton, Alberta, Canada, leads with a combined time of 34.78 for two runs. Sears is the 2008 world champion barrel racer and the 2008 Tucson Rodeo champion. The second round for timed events concludes Saturday, Feb. 27 with the top 12 contestants advancing to the finals on Sunday, Feb. 28.
The annual Mike Cervi Jr. Memorial team roping featured 91 teams in a 5-round progressive event. The event raised $13,260 for the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund.
The Tucson Rodeo resumes Thursday at 12:30 p.m.
