Today competed Go Round 1 competition with competitors throughout the week earning winnings. It was also the last chance for competitors to earn their way into the Tucson Rodeo Finals. A sellout crowd enjoyed big performances and scores! The afternoon started with Bareback Riding and RC Landingham riding Beutler and Son’s Hot Sauce to the day’s high score of 84.5. Logan Lemmel’s time of 4.7 in Steer Wrestling was the best time of the whole week and gave him a 1st place finish. In Team Roping, Josh Siggins and Faron Candelaria’s time of 5.9 was the best of the day and earned them a spot in tomorrow’s finals. In Saddle Bronc, two competitors earned their way today into the finals; Riggin Smith, 86.0 and Allen Boore, 84.0. Anthony Jordan had the day’s best time of 10.0 in Tie-Down Roping. In Women’s Barrel Racing, two ladies earned their way into the Finals, Chelsea Moore had the day’s best time of 17.42 and Stacey Padilla scored 17.43. The afternoon ended with Bull Riding and two competitors earning spots in the Finals; Jeff Bertus rode Andrews Rodeo’s Pure Pleasure for the day’s high score of 84.5 and Brody Yeary’s scored 83.5.
Tucson Rodeo concludes, Sunday Feb. 25th when the top 12 scores from the week in each event return for the Tucson Rodeo Finals and the chance to win part of the $387,052 purse. Tomorrow’s Finals are sold out but can be watched live on Cowboy Channel +, which can be streamed or seen on various cable and satellite systems.
